WELCOME DAVE & GRACE HARDY

We are glad to have Brother Dave Hardy and his wife Grace with us today, and we look forward to hearing him preach God’s Word to us in all services. Dave Hardy served as Pastor of Eastland Baptist Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma for over thirty years. 

FRIEND DAY WAS A SUCCESS

We appreciate the work you put into making Friend Day a success. We had many volunteers on Saturday, February 20, who helped us distribute hundreds of fliers in neighborhoods near our church. Also, many of you invited friends who came. Thank You. Let's keep moving forward. 

 

PRESENT YOURSELF TO GOD

Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

When I was in the corrections academy in 1989, we had to present ourselves for inspection each morning. It was the first thing we did. We couldn't be late. Our uniforms needed to be pressed and our boots and leathers shined. I had to do a self inspection before I was inspected by the drill instructor, and sometimes by a sergeant or lieutenant. If they found a loose thread, a button unbuttoned, a wrinkle, or boots not gleaming we found out about it. They would keep looking till they found something, so that we could do more pushups. 

It is reasonable and acceptable for us to present ourselves to God every morning. As we present ourselves to God we should do some self inspection. The academy may have been a game for the instructors, but life is not a game with God. Giving God our best is best also for us.

Psalm 139:23-24 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
