1 Peter 1:8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:

Just as God gives us a peace that passes all understanding (Philippians 4:7), He gives us ‘joy unspeakable and full of glory.’  This is a joy that is experienced rather than explained. It is a spiritual joy that the natural man sees as foolishness (1 Corinthians 2:14). We lack words to fully express this joy. I cannot work up this joy or produce it in myself or others. It is given to us by God.

This joy is full of glory. It is honorable. There is nothing evil or scandalous about it. We need never be ashamed of this joy. The joy of some is but for a moment. Our joy is everlasting. It is as eternal as Jesus is eternal. It is a foretaste of Heaven on earth.

Psalm 16:11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

Walk in God’s presence, and you will walk in His joy!
