Romans 6:13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

Proverbs 4:20-27 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee. Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee. Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established. Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.

As Christians, we should devote every member of our bodies to God: our ears, eyes, tongue, hands, and feet. We should love God with all our heart. If our members are devoted to God, we will listen to God’s Word with our ears. We will allow the preaching and teaching of God’s Word to keep us on the right path. With our eyes we will read, study, and apply God’s Word. With our mouth we will give praise to God and refrain from evil speech. We will serve God with our hands and feet, staying on the path of righteousness.

We live in a world that wants us to compromise. We are tempted to step just a little off the path. When we step a little off the path we think we are in control. But there is danger when we get off the path. Abraham just told a little while lie; Lot just pitched his tent towards Sodom; Moses smote the rock twice; The priest placed the Ark on and Ox cart; David decided to stay home. Compromises led to more problems and even death.

The world wants us to compromise our morals, doctrine, and service. If we are doing the positive things that keep us on the path, we will be less tempted to get off the path. “Let all thy ways be established.”

The Apostle Paul warned Timothy: 2 Timothy 4:3-4 - For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

“Father God, I thank you that I am your child and that you want to use me. I yield my heart and members to you for the Holy Spirit to use me in your service. I realize that my body is your holy temple. Please help me to be a living sacrifice that pleases you. I give you my ears, eyes, tongue, hands, and feet for your service. Please give me wisdom and understanding that I might walk worthy. In Jesus name, Amen.”
