Freedom Must Be Maintained
FREEDOM MUST BE MAINTAINED.

Proverbs 4:20-22 (KJV) My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.
God equips us that we may continue to have freedom from the power of sin. Sin enslaves us. We maintain that freedom through faith in God and His Word. God’s Words are life giving. They give life to our spirit, soul, and body. God does not set us up for failure, but for life and health.
- Attend to my words – We hear, give heed to, and regard God’s Word.
- Incline thine ear unto my sayings. – We listen attentively.
- Let them not depart from thine eyes. – We don’t forget about what God has said. We don’t listen, then turn from His Words.
- Keep them in the midst of thine heart. – We are going to treasure God’s Words. We will keep them in our heart that we may continue to ponder them and meditate upon them.
- For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. – The Bible is a living book. The Holy Spirit breathes live into it and into us.
Hebrews 4:12 (KJV) For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
God’s usual method of speaking to us is through His Word. As we read and study God’s Word, let us also apply it to ourselves and find a truth or verse to meditate upon throughout the day.
