Today, we welcome our guest preacher, Pastor Bill Prater. Bill Prater was saved as a “bus kid” at Fellowship Baptist Church in Liberal, Kansas in 1976. He later attended Bible college where he met his wife Katie.  The Praters were married and joined the full-time ministry staff of Fellowship Baptist Church in 1981. Bro. Prater served the church in various capacities including Minister of Music, Youth Pastor, and Associate Pastor before assuming the Pastorate in May of 2000. In August of 2020, after leading a smooth pastoral transition at FBC to his son, Tyler Prater, Pastor Prater stepped into his new role as Staff Evangelist. As Staff Evangelist, he and Katie will serve as mentors to pastors around the country, preaching in revivals, missions conferences, marriage retreats, and in various other capacities.

Who we believe ourselves to be affects our behavior! We need not be identified with our sin. In AA a person struggling with alcohol must stand up and say, “I am an alcoholic.” In contrast, God rarely ever even calls us sinners. We are contrasted with sinners. He calls us the righteous, beloved of God, My jewels, saints, children of God, sons of God, heirs of God, His peculiar people, His peculiar treasure, an holy people, a holy nation, and the people of God.

1 Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: See also Rev. 2:17; 3:12.
