Lamentations 3:22b-23 …His compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is Thy faithfulness.

Psalm 89:5 And the heavens shall praise thy wonders, O LORD: thy faithfulness also in the congregation of the saints.

We give God praise and thanks for His faithfulness in blessing the ministry of New Testament Baptist Church these 65 years. As we look to the future, we must not forget what God has done in the past.

Psalm 77:11 I will remember the works of the LORD: surely I will remember thy wonders of old.

God led Pastor J. C. Joiner and his wife Nita to pioneer this work. The first service was held on Easter Sunday, March 29, 1959. Pastor Joiner’s life verse was, 1 Corinthians 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

Pastor Joiner preached the Word of God from the King James Bible for over 60 years. Pastor Alfred King has been our pastor now for almost four years. Both men have honored God by emphasizing the preaching of the Bible. And God has honored the preaching from the pulpit of New Testament Baptist Church by saving and changing the lives of thousands and calling hundreds to go to Bible College to prepare for service. Our past and current members can testify to how God has changed their lives!

Many churches today are trying to use pragmatic, business-type methods to build their churches and draw people in. They change Bible versions and music to adapt to current trends. Eighteen-minute humorous storytelling and self-help messages replace serious Bible preaching.

Here at New Testament Baptist Church, we are going to keep preaching and teaching the Word of God, because this is what God blesses.

1 Thessalonians 2:13 For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.
