Eph. 6:4 And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

Father’s Day is a special day to honor and celebrate fathers. Fathers have a huge impact on the lives of their families. God gives great responsibilities to fathers. So, Father’s Day is also a day when we fathers might reflect upon how we are doing when it comes to our role as leaders, protectors, and nurturers as we follow Christ. Because we are shaping even future generations, we must embrace our role with humility and love. 

Being a father is challenging. We must balance work, family, church, and maintain our personal time with God. It may be difficult to keep life in balance. But with God’s help we can. One of our biggest challenges has to do with listening to our spouses and children. We want quickly ‘fix’ the problem instead of spending time listening. 

Father’s let’s renew our commitment to God and our families. Wives and children let’s express love and appreciation to our fathers. Let’s give them respect and honor.

Exo 20:12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
