Psalm 119:165 Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.

What kind of peace is this? Who receives this peace? What does this peace do for you?

This is not a superficial peace. It is GREAT peace. This is a deep abiding sense of well-being and of harmony with God. This peace gives us spiritual stability during life’s challenges. Jesus gives us this kind of peace: John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

The receiver of this peace is the one who has a heartfelt devotion and reverence for the Bible. This person has a love for reading and studying the Bible. He looks forward to the peaching and teaching of the Word of God. 

An advantage to being the receiver of this peace is that no one can take it away from you. No one can offend you in such a way as to take your peace away. You will have a resilience that overcomes offenses and the chaos that surround you. Troubles and provocations will not cause you to stumble or fall into distress. Your peace rests in the faithfulness of God.
