2 Corinthians 1:20 For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.

None of us are deserving of the promises of God. By the grace of God, we receive the promises of God because we are in Christ. Because of Christ we can claim the promises of God. Yea and Amen. Whether we are dealing with worry, temptations, doubt, fear, security, or numerous other things; we can count on God’s faithfulness in keeping His promises. As you read your Bible this week claim some promises. Please read or sing the hymn, “Standing on the Promises” and think about the words.

1 Standing on the promises of Christ, my King,
Through eternal ages let his praises ring;
Glory in the highest, I will shout and sing,
Standing on the promises of God.

2 Standing on the promises that cannot fail.
When the howling storms of doubt and fear assail,
By the living Word of God I shall prevail,
Standing on the promises of God.

3 Standing on the promises of Christ, the Lord,
Bound to him eternally by love's strong cord,
Overcoming daily with the Spirit's sword,
Standing on the promises of God.



4 Standing on the promises I cannot fall,
List'ning ev'ry moment to the Spirit's call,
Resting in my Savior as my all in all,
Standing on the promises of God.
