Reasons to have a Daily Bible Study

Even if you have been reading the Bible for years, establishing a daily routine has its benefits. Making Bible study a habit can be valuable.

1.    Spiritual Growth and Maturity – No matter how long we have been a Christian we haven’t reached our peak of growth and maturity. We can continue to grow in faith and in our relationship with Jesus Christ. 2Pe 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

2.    Wisdom for Daily Living – We need God’s wisdom as we face life’s challenges. Jas 3:13 Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.

3.    Strengthening Faith and Trust – Our faith and trust in God is reinforced. Pro 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

4.    Renewing the Mind – God changes our perspective on life. Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

5.    Building Discipline and Routine – Many of us are undisciplined in various areas of our lives. 2Pe 1:5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith …;

6.    Enhancing Prayer Life – As we read the Scriptures the Spirit of God may bring thoughts of gratitude, repentance, and our needs, and the needs of others. Php 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

7.    Experiencing Peace and Comfort – When we are full of stress and anxiety, reading the Bible can bring peace and hope. Php 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

1Ti 4:13 Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.
