Are You Throughly Furnished?

That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

2 Timothy 3:17

Dissect and Define:

  • That – Points to something before mentioned (The Scriptures).
  • Perfect – Finished, complete, not defective, completely skilled, complete in moral excellencies.
  • Throughly – Completely, fully, wholly; without reserve; sincerely.
  • Furnished – Supplied, garnished, adorned, decorated, embellished; fitted with necessities.

The word ‘that’ speaks to God’s purpose in giving us the Scriptures. God provides us with everything necessary for growth in spiritual maturity and effective service. It’s God’s plan and desire for you and me. The Scriptures give us absolute truth so that we can build our life on a firm foundation. The Scriptures rebuke us. God tells us how to get right with Him and how to stay right with Him.

Php 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
