An Attitude of Gratitude

Psalm 100:1-5 A Psalm of praise. Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands. Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.


This Thanksgiving and Christmas season let’s take the initiative to have an attitude of gratitude. Our attitude is reflected in our behavior. It is our frame of mind; our thinking and feeling. Gratitude has to do with our readiness to show appreciation to God and others. Some synonyms are gratefulness, thankfulness, thanks, appreciation, acknowledgement, regard, and respect.


In Psalm 100 we see many things that we can give God praise and thanks for. We can meditate on these and think of many more. Let’s also show our appreciation and thanks to our family and friends. We must do this on purpose.


Do you have an attitude of gratitude? Your attitude affects others, but it also affects you in spirit, soul and body. Having good thoughts towards God and others affects you in a good way. You cannot have an unthankful spirit and not be affected by it.

Let’s start each day with “An Attitude of Gratitude!”
