PLEASING OUR GREAT GOD IN 2018

Dr. J. C. Joiner

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Expectant Of Our Lord’s Looming Return? YES!

However, We Work And Serve As If He’s Not!

As your Pastor, it is my prayer that God will grant us His grace and power for our time-limited opportunity for ministry. We are thankful for souls saved here and for the great spiritual attitude with our Church family. There have been and there are always critics and naysayers in and outside our midst, but Jesus gave us His prayer request in Matthew 9:38: “Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.”  And, He also infers this command “Occupy till I come(Luke 19:13).

With His prayer in our hearts and our desire to be obedient to His command, this local Church was planted in 1959. Now 59 years later as Tucson and America and the World all descend from God and from His written Word, I have observed that members of independent Baptist Churches increasingly neglect the high and holy call to serve Christ in a local Church. One of my responsibilities to the Lord and to you is to encourage and challenge each of you to be regularly and increasingly involved in the Lord’s harvest at 2855 N. Craycroft Road

Consider the following core values for over a half-century at New Testament Baptist Church. If you have any spiritual convictions, these principles will encourage you to increase your involvement:

  1. A ministry of a local Baptist Church where soul winning is always the priority.
  2. Baptist distinctives, which have a biblical foundation, consistently taught here five times weekly.
  3. Conservative and Christ-honoring hymns and special music in every service.
  4. Ardency for the preservation of Scripture for the English-speaking world in the Authorized Version (KJV).
  5. An emphasis on biblical standards for daily, practical living and separated life style.
  6. An annual missions conference and frequent visiting missionaries and preachers that emphasize the worldwide harvest.
  7. Two revivals annually (fall and spring) featuring America’s most outstanding local Church evangelists.
  8. Two summer camps for varsity Youth and elementary Children.
  9. A Reformers Unanimous chapter that ministers to addicts and to those serving addicted friends and family.
  10. A Van ministry serving those needing transportation to hear God’s Word.

… Come thou with us, and we will do thee good:

for the LORD hath spoken … (Numbers 10:29)

Thank You!   Thank You!

Appreciative gratitude is surely appropriate for each in the Church family who gave a sacrificial/love offering to our Lord celebrating His first advent.

The accumulated Christmas offering amounted to $10,116.70.

The stated goal this year was additional improvements of facilities security, surveillance capabilities, personal safekeeping / protection projects.

Is it possible to add the prayer list to this website each week. It would make it much easier in knowing who in our family is in the need of prayer.

    Great website.

Thank you for your comment. It would be very convenient; however, some people might not want their name on the website. If you will call the church office we can add you to the mailing list.
