Pastor’s Notes – Bulletin for December 28

Dr J. C. Joiner 2December 28, 2014

NTBC Theme for 2015

Keep Faith Pristine In Twenty Fifteen”

‘Keep Faith Pristine in Twenty Fifteen’ is based on 2 Timothy 4:7I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.  For our 2015 theme, we have included the word “pristine” which means “in its original condition; unspoiled; clean; fresh as if new; spotless.”

To have “faith pristine” is to yield unconditionally to the Good Shepherd’s rod and staff that comforts us. (Psalm 23)   The rod and staff are symbols of His authority to lead, guide, protect, and discipline us, keeping us sure and secure.  We should love His rod as He uses it in correction; for if He spares it, we would be spoiled. The whole passage in 2 Timothy 4 is so directed.

We need to so live with the hope that our God will find unhindered, “pristine” faith in us when He returns. Until then, our faith will be challenged, and we must not be like the Apostle Paul’s associate, Demas, who in the time of engagement, forsook the ministry because he loved this present world. (2 Timothy 4:10)

“A New Year’s Eve” Service

–Wednesday, Dec. 31, 6:00 PM —

Isn’t it overwhelming that we have an eternal Heavenly Father who loves us so! He has allowed us for a half-century to have a place called the House of God in which we can freely praise and serve our dear LORD for His glory and honor.

This Wednesday night, you and yours should make a commitment to the Lord in this sacred place as we collectively and humbly close out one year with a time of worship, praise and thanksgiving.

Also, we desire, with anticipation for another year, to be His faithful members and trustworthy witnesses. There’s not a better way to express your gratitude and appreciation for blessings past and potentials expected than at this New Year’s Eve Service.

(Please note the time – 6 PM)

Mary was told, “Blessed is the Fruit of thy Womb.”

However, by contrast in this present culture, an expectant mother’s womb can be most hazardous for an unborn child.   Jesus foretold, “ … behold, the days are coming, in the which they shall say, Blessed (happy) are the barren (childless), and the wombs that never bare (give birth), and the paps which never gave suck (never nursing a baby). Luke 23:29

DOES OUR LORD’S PROPHECY OF THE LAST DAYS ALSO DESCRIBE THE ABORTION EVENT?  ARE “THE DAYS” THAT JESUS PREDICTED HERE RIGHT NOW?

MANY WOMEN ARE “BLESSED” (the word also means happy) TO FORNICATE WITH MULTIPLE SEX PARTNERS, USING CONTRACEPTIVES TO KEEP THEIR WOMBS ”BARREN,” AND THUS AVOID NURSING (paps) A NEW BORN.  HOWEVER, IF IN THE EVENT THEY GET PREGNANT, THEY CONSIDER THEMSELVES “BLESSED” (happy) BECAUSE THEY LIVE IN SUCH A CULTURE OF CHOICE TO REFUSE THE LIVE BIRTH OF AN UNWANTED CHILD. THEIR “WOMBS” ARE EVISCERATED BY ABORTIONISTS AND THE DEAD BABIES WILL NEVER BE NURSED (suck).

Does this not describe the mass killings of helpless innocent ones … a contributing factor in this increasingly corrupt American culture?

Last Sunday was designated as “Christmas Offering Sunday”

It is not too late to get in on a promised blessing by the Lord Jesus: It is more blessed to give than to receive. (Acts 20:35)  A Christmas offering is one scriptural approach to worshipping Him.  After all, it’s His birthday that you are supposed to be celebratingHistorically, our Christmas offering has been used to upgrade our Church facilities. Probably the most pressing need this year is reroofing buildings.  Each member of the Church can participate with a timely offering as did the Wise Men who arrived sometime after the events in Bethlehem … “worshipped him … opened their treasures … presented unto him gifts … ”(Matt 2:11). Be sure your children get in on this to understand the real meaning of Christmas – “God so loved that He gave … (John 3:16).
