Happy Mother’s Day

A Gift For Every Mother

An additional gift presented to:

Mother (newest)

Mother (eldest)

Mother (most years as a born again Christian)

Mother (most children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren)

Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. (Proverbs 31:28)

“There are two ways in which we can honor our mothers to whom we owe our homes, and whose mother’s love gave us a glimpse into the heart of God. First of all, we can express our love and gratitude in some tangible way. While, of course, we can never repay our mother for her love, sacrifice, tears and patience, we can certainly use an occasion like Mother’s Day for cheering her heart. May God have mercy upon you if you have a forgotten mother somewhere in the world!

In the next place, we can resolve to be the men and women our mothers want us to be. Are you a child of many prayers? Has a mother yearned over you and striven to lead you to the feet of the crucified Saviour? As yet, however, her prayers and pleadings have been in vain. What a load it would lift from her loving heart if only you would turn to the Master she dearly loves!

If your beloved mother has journeyed beyond the shadows of earth, rest assured that even in the glory land her heart can be made to rejoice over the tidings of your salvation, carried to her by divine messengers.”

Lockyer, Herbert. All the Women of the Bible. Zondervan. P. 304

Today We welcome Missionary Jack Baskin

Missionary Baskin entered the Korean War at the age of 21, in 1952. In 1959, he returned with his family. “I wanted to share my joy of salvation with the Korean people. I never stopped thinking about Korea,” he confessed.

During the next eight years, up to 1967, he founded 8 churches around the country, starting with Bulkwangdong Bible Baptist Church; and he played an important part in the establishment of the Bible Baptist Theological Seminary in 1965. Now his disciples lead the Korea Baptist Bible Fellowship.

Current Burden: He is working with nationals from Korea and the Philippines to help with underground church planting in Vietnam and in the “Killing Fields” of Cambodia, Congo and Zambia.

One of his greatest burdens is to motivate pastors to start Sunday School Classes in Spanish that some might become missionaries from the United States to the lost Spanish speaking people of the world.

What if you were a young person today and felt God calling you to the mission field?

  1. 1.  Go to a simple Bible College that teaches the Whole Word of God.
  2. Learn the use of computers.
  3. Learn English well!
  4.  Learn how to learn a language.
  5. Ditch the Hollywood style of dating and find a spouse that wants to serve God!
  6. Develop a daily walk with God!
