Of the 3,193 prophecies in the Old Testament, 703 of them deal with Christ. One out of every four prophesies in the Old Testament points to Christ. The purpose of the Bible is to relate to mankind what was necessary to restore man’s relationship with the Creator! And, what is this necessary element? Jesus Christ … God’s promise of a Saviour!  From Genesis to Revelation, the central message of the Bible does not change; it is the promise and fulfillment of Christ. Therefore, the key to understanding Scripture, as God intended, is to realize His common theme, which is Jesus Christ and to hear, as often as possible, truth concerning Him. And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, Jesus expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning Himself (Luke24:27). NTBC as a sacred PLACE where Scripture is expounded. It is the house of God, which is the Church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth (1 Tim. 3:15).  The Word of God has been expounded, without compromise, from this “pulpit” for almost 60 years, and we trust will be so preached until the Rapture!

… continue in My Word (John 8:31)

“I’ll Come to Church When I Get Straightened Out”

A man had recently moved into a certain community, and the preacher visited him, inviting him and his family to church. He said, “I’m very busy right now, but as soon as I get straightened out, I’m coming to your church.”  When he didn’t show up, he received another visit from some of the church members. He told them the same thing he told the preacher, “I’m very busy right now, but as soon as I get straightened out, I’m coming to your church.”

It wasn’t long till the man died! At the Church where his funeral was conducted, the preacher was heard to say: “I’ll have to say this for him; he is a man of his word. He told us he’d come to our church as soon as he got straightened out … and he did.”

But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak

they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment [Matt 12:36]
