Continue in My Word

If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed.

 (John 8:31)

As a Church family, we come together four services weekly with the expressed purpose of continuing in His Word. Our Lord declared that to be faithful in the furtherance of His Word would evidence that we are His disciples.

I’ve always promised a message from God’s Word each time we assemble. Preaching and teaching for over 58 years at New Testament Baptist Church, I’ve used three basic rules of Bible interpretation: 1) Find a fact, then believe it; 2) Find a promise, then claim it; 3) Find a command, then obey it. In addition, I’ve majored on three basic messages: 1) “Get saved;” 2) “Live like you are saved;” 3) “Get someone else saved.”

Sadly however, the Bible predicts Church attendance will diminish in the last days as the return of Christ draws near. Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching (Heb. 10:25). It is my earnest prayer that none of the members of our assembly will be a party to fulfillment of this prophesy.

The Lord’s exhortation should be seriously considered:

If ye continue in my word,

then are ye my disciples indeed.
