TRUST IN THE LORD FOREVER
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength: Isaiah 26:3-4
Many Christians in America have become complacent about where they place their trust. It can be easy for us to place our trust in things, in ourselves, in our country, etc. To see what trust in the Lord means, let’s first see what the wrong kind of trust is. Ancient Israel had been placing their trust in everything except God. God, through Isaiah rebukes them for misplacing their trust:
Isaiah 30:2-3 … to trust in the shadow of Egypt! Therefore shall the strength of Pharaoh be your shame, and the trust in the shadow of Egypt your confusion.
Isaiah 30:12 Wherefore thus saith the Holy One of Israel, Because ye despise this word, and trust in oppression and perverseness, and stay thereon:
Isaiah 31:1 Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD!
Isaiah 36:5 I say, sayest thou, (but they are but vain words) I have counsel and strength for war: now on whom dost thou trust, that thou rebellest against me?
Isaiah 36:6 Lo, thou trustest in the staff of this broken reed, on Egypt; whereon if a man lean, it will go into his hand, and pierce it: so is Pharaoh king of Egypt to all that trust in him.
Isaiah 42:17 They shall be turned back, they shall be greatly ashamed, that trust in graven images, that say to the molten images, Ye are our gods.
Isaiah 59:4 None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.
In the New Testament we see rebuke for misplaced trust:
Mark 10:24 And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!
2 Corinthians 1:9 But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead:
Philippians 3:4 Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more:
1 Timothy 6:17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;
How do I trust God more? It starts by building a relationship with Jesus Christ, the Author and Finisher of our faith (Heb. 12:2). How did you gain trust in your friend, your spouse, your family member? It was through getting to know that person. We get to know Jesus through the preaching and teaching and reading of the Word of God and through prayer, and through seeing God work in our lives and in the lives of others. We need to be in the Word of God every day and in His house (1 Tim. 3:16) for every service unless providentially hindered.
We might live in an unstable world and in uncertain times, but we have a foundation to build our lives upon in Jesus Christ. We need not live in fear, for our confidence is in God. 2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Here at New Testament Baptist Church we believe in a young earth. We believe that Adam and Eve were specially created by God. We don’t believe that any animal life died until after Adam and Eve sinned. Therefore, we believe that all animal fossils, including dinosaurs, were made after man sinned. To help you understand the science of creation there are a couple of good websites:
- http://www.icr.org/ Recent News
- Another great site is https://answersingenesis.org/
- Ken Ham has written many good books supporting a young earth.
On both of the above sites you can read scientific articles and get information on books that will help you better understand the true science, so that you and your children won’t be deceived by the evolution hoax. You may also find books and videos in our church library.

NTBC Theme for 2015
“Keep Faith Pristine In Twenty Fifteen”
‘Keep Faith Pristine in Twenty Fifteen’ is based on 2 Timothy 4:7 – I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. “To keep the faith” is to claim the promises in God’s Word and apply them to my particular problems. “To keep the faith” is confidence in God’s faithfulness to me in an uncertain world, on an uncharted course, through an unknown future
