Unified Christmas Day Service – 10:30 AM

Dr. J. C. Joiner

December 25, 2016

Please make the Christmas Service a priority. We hope to see all of our church family in Church for the one unified service at 10:30 AM. We will not be having Sunday School or a PM service for Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.  Our Saviour loves this Church (Eph. 5:25), and so should you! And, He promised to be here when we assemble (Matt. 18:20).

Prophecy at Christmas

But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.

(Micah 5:2; Matthew 2:5,6)

Prophecy can be defined as history written before time. Many details of Jesus birth, life, and death were prophesied hundreds of years before the events occurred. It is impossible that this could be accounted for by coincidence or chance!

In his book, “Science Speaks,” Peter Stoner applies the modern science of probability to just eight prophecies (like the above text in Micah, written over 700 years before Christ’s birth in Bethlehem).   Stoner writes, “… the chance that any man might have fulfilled all eight prophecies is one in 10 to the 17th power. That would be 1 in 100,000,000,000,000,000.”  (That is one chance in one hundred quadrillion).

Stoner suggests that we could “take one hundred quadrillion silver dollars and lay them face up across the state of Texas. They will cover all the state two feet deep. Now, mark X on one of the silver dollars and stir the silver coins thoroughly, blindfold a man and tell him he can travel as far as he wishes, but he must on the first attempt, pick up that one marked silver dollar. What chance would he have of getting the marked silver dollar the first time?” The chances are one in one hundred quadrillion.

Stoner concludes, “Just the same chance that the prophets would have had of writing those eight prophecies and having them all come true in one man, providing they wrote them in their own wisdom.” Of course, we believe that the reason the Scriptures were fulfilled had nothing to do with chance nor a man’s wisdom, but that “prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.”(2 Peter 1:21)  The fact that Jesus Christ fulfilled so many Scriptures at His first advent (coming), gives us assurance that the many Scriptures prophesying His second advent (coming) will be, in total, fulfilled to the nth degree! … this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into Heaven. (Acts 1:11)

New Year’s DAY

Next Sunday, January 1, 10:30 AM

(One Service Only)

Hopefully you will have enjoyed this Christmas with family and friends. However, there’s a spiritual imperative for us to be assembled in a local Church as a Bible-believing family, starting the New Year of 2017 in the House of God (Heb. 10:25). Our Saviour loves this Church (Eph. 5:25), and so should you! And, He promised to be here when we assemble (Matt. 18:20).

~ A Special “Thank You” To A Faithful Church Family ~

To all who have served the Lord so faithfully in 2016 – from the 51st Missions Conference, through the 57th Church Anniversary celebration, to the Christmas programs and activities of this last month – you are deserving of sincere gratitude! God gave us a wonderful year with souls saved, lives changed, and an effective worldwide soul-winning, Church planting ministry. The praise and the honor is not just for the few in leadership standing, but for every person serving in any capacity, for every offering given, for the backing of the ministry of others, for intercessory prayer, and for every expression of love to our dear Savior and Lord. Because of your devoted service, God has promised crowns to be awarded at the Bema Seat – the judgment seat of Christ immediately following the Rapture (2 Cor. 5:10 / Rom. 14;12).

Fall Revival – Evangelist Paul Schwanke

You are Encouraged to Hear
Evangelist Paul Schwanke

October 16-19

Monday through Wednesday: 7:00 pm

Many today are facing an uncertain future with many problems and stresses that are difficult to overcome. During these times we can receive faith and courage from the promises of God’s Word that we may face the future with confidence.

2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Attempt great things for God, and then you can expect great things from God!  Revival involvement is one of those “great things”!  Here are several imperatives for this spiritually special week:

  1. Pray earnestly every day for the Revival meetings.
  2. Invite the unsaved and unchurched by phone or text or personal visit.
  3. Commit to be in every service.
  4. Prioritize this event for your family.

Evangelist Paul Schwanke

We are delighted to welcome our supported evangelist, one of America’s best!  Paul Schwanke, a dynamic speaker and scripture expositor, has given himself to one thing – Bible preaching. Saved as a young boy through the influence of godly parents, Brother Schwanke was impacted by revival meetings, mission conferences, and youth camps sponsored by his Baptist Church. As a youngster Paul was called to preach and immediately began preparing for God’s highest vocation. Upon graduating from Bible College, his family traveled with Evangelist Gary Gillmore. Thereupon, he stepped out by faith into evangelism fulltime. He and wife Cathy are blessed with three children and two grandchildren.  Since 1983, Evangelist Paul Schwanke has been used of God to preach almost 14,000 times in 46 states and on every continent. Travels have included mission trips to Singapore, Malaysia, Honduras, Chile, Philippines, Mexico, Canada, Romania, the Caribbean, Ghana, Italy, Hungary, Ireland, New Zealand, Ukraine, Haiti, Kenya, Peru. He has been most effective in many revivals here in our Church. Paul declares, “The glory belongs at the cross for the multitudes saved and hearts that have been stirred for revival.”

Call or text someone to be your guest to hear this Man of God!
